Our school year is filled with hands-on experiences, celebrations, visitors from the community, and memorable moments that bring learning to life. Below are a few favorites you’ll see throughout the year.
Firefighter Visit 🚒
One of our most exciting events is a visit from local firefighters. Children get a closer look at a real fire truck, meet the firefighters who protect our community, and learn fire safety concepts in an age-appropriate way.
Santa Visit 🎅
During the holiday season, Santa makes a special visit to Monarch. Children enjoy festive activities and joyful moments that celebrate imagination, kindness, and the magic of the season.
Valentine’s Day Dance 💕
Our Valentine’s Day Dance is a celebration of friendship and fun. Children enjoy music, movement, themed activities, and lots of smiles—an event that supports social connection in a warm, inclusive way.
A Visit From the Queen 👑
A royal guest brings stories to life at Monarch! This special visit inspires imagination, encourages conversation, and helps children connect themes like kindness, courage, and confidence through creative play.
Hatching Chicks & Butterflies 🐣🦋
Students get an up-close look at nature through life science experiences like observing chicks hatch and watching the monarch butterfly life cycle unfold.
Monarch is also a proud Monarch Waystation, supporting efforts that help reestablish monarch butterfly populations while teaching children patience, responsibility, and respect for living things.
Book Fair 📚
Our Book Fair encourages a love of reading by giving children access to fun, age-appropriate books they’re excited to explore. It’s also a great way to strengthen the home–school connection around early literacy.
Thanksgiving & Winter Holiday Performances 🎭
Our seasonal performances give children a chance to shine. Through music, movement, and group presentations, students build confidence and experience the pride of sharing what they’ve learned with families.
